Grab a quick bite at Easy Street Cantina, “the only walk-up seafood” restaurant on Nantucket. Located on Broad Street, just yards from the ferry dock, stop by with the family before you catch the ferry or grab dinner to-go.
This family-owned and operated Mexican restaurant is a popular spot for informal lunch, dinner and even breakfast, for good reasons.
Easy Street Cantina wasn’t always the “three restaurant combination” it is today. Their story begins at the end of Broad Street in 1993, with the small Mexican take-out eatery, Taco Tacos. After six years of success, the owners opened Joe’s Grill, an American fast seafood restaurant, just four doors down. It wasn’t long before the decision was made to form one location. Shortly after, the owners also purchased the Nantucket Cookie Company.
With that decision, a fun patchwork of distinctly different flavors came together to form Easy Street Cantina. And today, the early morning smell of freshly-made pastries and afternoon Mexican or seafood favorites attracts passerbys all day long.
Unlike the formal restaurants of Nantucket, Easy Street Cantina aims for “fun, fast, affordable family food” in a casual dining venue. As a family-run restaurant, their staff aims to create a friendly experience for everyone.
Families with children, couples and parties of all sizes enjoy Easy Street Cantina’s first-come outdoor seating in spacious picnic tables and covered umbrellas only yards from the docks, as well as interior booths amidst nautical-themed decor. Groups planning larger get-togethers can even call ahead and reserve space as available.
Easy Street Cantina serves nachos, burritos, fajitas, quesadillas— and what they’re most known for— tacos. But what makes them unique is their variety, as well as their fast-food “Street Bites,” including burgers, subs, wraps, salads and even seafood platters. Seasonally, they offer a weekday buffet and salad bar, with daily changing specials.
Easy Street Cantina is a long-time favorite of kids, who can order mac n’ cheese, chicken tenders and french fries. Popular adult favorites include their smoked spiced chicken, seasoned beef, Angus TNT Burgers and seafood combination platters. With vegetarian options ranging from falafel to veggie burritos, there’s something for nearly everyone. Review their menu here.
Don’t forget to leave room for dessert. The attached Nantucket Cookie Company makes small batches of baked goods from scratch, made-to-order with no preservatives. From soft serve ice cream to treats made in their bakery—like their chocolate chip cookies— the sweet tooth in your party has plenty of options.
If you are celebrating a special event on the island, their Giant Birthday Cookie cake is a hit. They also offer cookie decorating workshops in the restaurant or at your private event, with to-go kits including cookies, frosting and toppings.
Let’s not forget; they’re also open for breakfast. From black bean, egg and cheese burritos to pancakes and bacon, Easy Street Cantina is also an excellent option for a classic stack or scramble.
With long hours— opening at 7:15 a.m. (8:30 a.m. on Sundays) until 2 a.m. every day— Easy Street Cantina serves Nantucket diners all day (and night) long.
The restaurant makes grabbing a bite on-the-go convenient for busy travelers. Load up your cooler on the way to your beach or enjoy curbside delivery when walking within one block of Easy or Broad Street.
Hosting an event? Easy Street Cantina also offers party platters (and taco bars) for any occasion.
Being so close to the ferry, Easy Street Cantina offers a quick bite by the water, but don’t forget, there’s a whole island full of flavors to explore.
